Keeping Them Taught
“Teaching people isn’t hard. It’s keeping them taught!”

From one of the seminal “Organizational Development” thinkers, comes the seed of the entire study: “How do you keep learning from diffusing in the heat of “the next big thing” and the counter currents of financial pressure and client demands?”
Hold that thought!
Your First Cornerstones?
Allow us to introduce ourselves, and apologize for taking so long to connect! Many of you have known us for years, but have been suffering in E-mail purgatory. We’re pleased to announce a vetted list of subscribers who may now choose to receive a regular e-mail from Fusion… and you’re one of many who requested access.
What this is:
It’s a weekly teaching article from The Fusion Group — called Cornerstones — to keep you taught. These notes are small reminders to our clients and friends of what they already know — that communication isn’t about you! It’s about them! Your clients, suppliers, customers and friends, also family and community. Oh, and about getting results — not just speaking.
How it came to be:
In the beginning, we taught a pretty darned good Presentation Skills Workshop and watched in dismay as the powerful results our clients achieved in the first weeks and months after training slowly burned away in the furnace of current events and daily pressure. “Keeping them taught” indeed! What we came to understand is that any teaching — in order to become permanent — must become an integral part of an “entrenched, integrated culture.” Communication must Produce Sales. Sales must be supported and directed by enlightened Management. Management must be informed by Continuing Education and Strategic Planning. Strategic Planning must be elevated by focusing on Ideals — or the whole thing devolves down to a chase after ever-increasing profits. This requires a Corporate University with a muscular commitment to excellence in Training. Pull it all together: Fusion! Carry on for twenty years: Culture!
What’s the deal?
You know us already. Stay connected here. If you haven’t been already, come to our Starbase, and push your envelope about Communication, Management, Sales, and Strategic Planning. Then sign on for a weekly Cornerstone and stay taught for, well — ever!
How’s it work?
First it’s this weekly blog: Cornerstones
We will rotate regularly through all the Fusion flavors.
It’s also a page on our website: “TheFusionGroup.com/cornerstones”
Pretty straightforward: Comment, Forward, Follow, Tweet
We’re building an enhanced internal filing/search capability for our soon-to-be redesigned website… Suggestions welcome! (You’ve been pretty clear about the current web offering… OK, we hear you!)
Going forward:
We’re excited about this new Fusion service. (Did we mention it’s free?) It’s not a bad thing to connect, to share, to teach. But something even better to remain connected, sharing for the long term!
For long time readers:
Different titles, different layout, more connections to and through social media, and Comments. We’re looking forward to the ongoing discussion! Thanks for being pioneers!
So there. Next week we’ll get back to our standard quote, visual, commentary style and applications. We look forward to many more years!
Remember “Teaching people isn’t hard. It’s keeping them taught!”
