“It’s Not About You; It’s About Them!”

So much discourse these days is about what people think; and what they think we should be thinking.  Seemingly everyone with access to a microphone wastes no time in getting right to it.  Telling us how things ought to be – but leaving out one key phrase: “In my own humble opinion…”

Only one opinion is valued by all people – Their Own.

As a speaker, success depends on achieving your objective(s).  But remember, the barriers to your success are the opinions, beliefs, assumptions, and concerns of your audience(s).  Honor their opinions, respect their beliefs, consider their assumptions, and have a care for their concerns – and you’ll have great success.

Speaker Suggestion: Before composing your presentation, analyze your audience to discover why they might act on your argument.  Make this the Main Idea of your presentation!
