Shedding Light on Laughter
“Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh, and the greatness which does not bow before children.”
— Khalil Gibran
“There are two kinds of light — the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures.”
— James Thurber
Laughter is the greatest indicator of upset resolved, occlusion dissolved and wisdom discovered.
Laughter dissolves barriers between people, nations, parties, points of view and the worst barrier of all — that which comes between us and the truth.
Laughter. Something to be prized as an indicator that we have dissolved a false belief, a misunderstanding, an ancient self-perspective — or an untruth.
If there is laughter, there is possibility, forgiveness, the death of ego and the emergence of a greater potential.
Hey, it’s about time… Make room for laughter!
Dessert:
For those of you serious souls who cannot enjoy the lesson without a little homework in the realm of communication, presentation or sales, here’s an assignment:
Take a moment, and prepare a short (3 minutes…) presentation on the subject of Rubber Ducks and Laughter, and the benefits of restoring a sense of humor to our aggrieved workplaces and the public sector. Sell us a duck, or a flock of them! See, even a fun topic can provide an excuse to polish your skills!
Take a break in the midst of this dismal summer and remember that a smile is free, and it frees you!
If you’re so inclined, leave me a message with that presentation and leave me laughing as well…
